Since the beginning of this class I have learned many things. I have a different outlook on college-level English. It can really enhance your writing skills and you way of thinking. I look back on the first time blogging, first chat,researching and reading classmates work. I have not had classmates since 1990 it has been a very good feeling.
I don't think my performance met or exceeded my expectations. I thought it would be easy for me ,but it was a challenge. I had to joggle my job,the kids,wife,chores and errands and go to class online. I probably could have put more effort into my work. It takes time and effort to stay on track and keep up with the class. I did enjoy reading my classmates work and their responds.
If I was to take this class over I would concentrate more on how to research subjects or topics. I would study the 'Little Brown ' handbook more, and ask more questions. I would do the same things that I have in all classes pay attention to the instructors direction and stay in the loop of the class. It take a strong minded person to pursue a degree online. I think I have come further since starting these courses and understand what challenges I have before me. I know I have to be dedicated to what I set out to do.
Finally I think in this class I have earned a B-. I think that is in part because I have come short of doing everything I was capable of doing. I don't make excuses for not being an A student, but my goal is to be one!

"MLK"

Fortunately for America we don't have (some) of the problems that were going on 1963.The letter Dr.King wrote while in jail could be used to make valid points to some people.We as a people (blacks&whites) have grown to live with each other.The injustice that was going on at that time would not hold up in this day and time.Dr.King philosophy (non-violent) probably would not work because of the different generations that followed the racism and segregation of that era. America have enjoyed the up bringing of the Constitution.First ,he would not have been writing this letter because he would not have been arrested for his demonstration.Dr.King speaks of just and unjust laws that is not known in these days.We are not fighting the same war that our ancestors fought reading signs"whites only",being call "boy",or"nigger".The Supreme Court outlawed segregation in 1954 in public schools but it was still a hill to climb to get our kids(blacks) an education.Now it is so much more easier to get the proper education that you want. We have so many advocates for Civil Rights now that the smallest detection of discrimination is handle immediately.We still have a long way to go but it is not the way it once was.

Week 2

I have learned so much in the second week of this class. I have gotten use to using the MLA format . That is the format I see me using in the future it can be used in many ways.The nu library and the little brown book are good resources. I have not had many problems with the different writing styles.Documentation is important because it give you more in site in your research.

First Week

In the first week in Eng240 I enjoyed learning how to write better. I enjoy the discussion because it helps you learn your classmates. We can learn a lot from the way someone writes because that is what they feel.
It is always good the hear other people views on different topics.

My degree program

I chose my degree program at NU in Business Accounting because I have been in this field for a long time. I have a big family and want to be more secure in the work force. I will be the first in my family to receive a degree in this field. I have been a supervisor for the last 12years but without a degree I will not have reached my goal. I think this program helps ,along with my experience. I have been past up for promotions for not having a degree. I like this program because it covers a variety of areas.I can be an Business Manager or an Accountant.
I have been out of high school for 20 years , completing this program will give me a sense of achievement. In today's society you have to have some type of advantage. This program gives me that. I think all degree programs are beneficial to us. A college education or vocational training is important. I had a chance to go to college years ago after high school but, I didn't follow through. I have learned that having a degree opens many doors in life. A degree in Business can give you math, English, and science. Business Accounting takes you to the next level. You can do more thing for a company or open your own business.
My father owns his own business and I ran it for years. I could not get the accounting part of the business. I would like to own my own business one day and pass it on to my children.While I am taking these courses and I will dig deep to find my calling in the business world.I looked into NU Business Accounting program and I was impressed!
